Intermission #9

Posted on September 22, 2022 by Jack Sinn

Unfortunately, I don’t have any fun tidbits today. My schedule has been all over the place, and the bulk of my focus this past week went into revising previous chapters. What I’m gonna do is treat this as a progress log instead.

-First, I’m bummed because I’ve wanted to do WAY more progress logs, but things were slow going until recently. I thought that I would have gotten more done on my vacation at the beginning of September, but I just. Didn’t. And maybe that’s due to tackling chapters 1-6 beforehand? I might’ve scared myself a bit there. As suspected, the grammar and sentence structure and whatnot was abysmal, but confronting it at long last (AND REALIZING THAT I PROUDLY PROMOTED/TALKED ABOUT IC WHILE THEY WERE LIKE THAT…OH NOOO) shook me.

Seriously, if you’re a brave soul that kept on reading regardless of THE MESS, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

-Currently, chapters 1-13.3 have been revised, but 5-13.3 have not yet been edited or looked over for errors by a second set of eyes. The rest of chapter 13 SHOULD be finished tonight, since I built up quite a bit of momentum. Also, now that I’m not untangling these rats nests of words, this has been so much easier to work on (ever since chapter 10 or so, it’s been kinda smooth sailing). Really hoping to be done with all of the posted chapters by the end of this weekend.

-Artwork is slow going, so I might need to accept it as being a longer project. I’m still dead set on doing this, though! But the updated goal is now somewhere between the end of December 2022 and the beginning of January 2023. I only have Chapters 1 and 2 redrawn, but they’re better than they were before:

So yeah, I’m gonna focus more on the writing part for now. I’ll be sure to post updates when there’s more chapter art, but I’m guessing that won’t be until at LEAST November (and even then, I’ll be doing NaNoWriMo, so…we’ll see how it goes!).

-And finally, Interpersonal Chemistry will resume on Saturday, October 1st with Chapter 17. Updates will be scheduled at 3:00pm ET. Thank you all for being so patient with me as I work through everything; taking this little break has been so helpful for my mental health, and I’m excited to start posting again. I’ve also learned a fuckton due to addressing past mistakes head on, and I’m hoping that the improvement will be noticeable going forward.

xoxo,

Jack

Mitch Calvert is 29 years old, an independent wrestler, and a goddamn mess. After suffering an injury during a match and being put on the shelf, he gets dumped by his boyfriend and is forced to yet again pick up the pieces of his life. He struggles with his self worth, combats addiction and trauma, and begrudgingly falls in love with his new roommate that he definitely has no chance with.

But what can you do? It's either take life's beatdown without putting up any resistance, or grab a steel chair and start swinging back.
